Welcome to Our Infant Program

Nurturing Growth from the Very Beginning

At Dartmouth Children’s Center, our infant program provides a warm, nurturing, and developmentally supportive environment where babies can begin building the strong foundation they need for lifelong learning. We understand that the earliest months of life are filled with incredible growth, discovery, and connection, which is why we prioritize individualized care, responsive relationships, and family partnerships every step of the way.

Our program is designed for infants as young as four weeks old through 15 months, offering a safe and loving space where each child is recognized as a unique individual with their own developmental path. We believe that strong emotional bonds, consistent routines, and attentive caregiving are essential in helping infants feel secure, develop trust, and thrive.

A Relationship-Based Approach to Early Learning

In our infant classrooms, caregivers focus on building strong, responsive relationships with each child. Through consistent, loving interactions, infants develop emotional security, which serves as the foundation for social-emotional development, communication, and cognitive growth.

Our experienced educators:

  • Follow each infant’s individual schedule and developmental needs

  • Foster secure attachments through responsive caregiving

  • Support emotional regulation through comfort, consistency, and nurturing interactions

  • Encourage language development through talking, singing, reading, and modeling

  • Promote physical development with age-appropriate sensory and motor experiences

  • Partner closely with families to ensure continuity between home and school

Learning Through Exploration

We believe even our youngest learners are active participants in their own development. Our carefully prepared environment encourages infants to safely explore through sensory experiences, movement, and play.

Infants are provided opportunities to:

  • Explore textures, sounds, and visual stimulation

  • Develop motor skills through tummy time, crawling, climbing, and movement

  • Build early communication skills through language-rich interactions

  • Strengthen social connections through positive caregiver engagement

  • Experience predictable routines that foster trust and security

Each moment of the day is viewed as a meaningful learning opportunity, whether during feeding, diapering, play, or rest.

Supporting the Whole Child and Family

At Dartmouth Children’s Center, we recognize that families are a child’s first teachers. We value strong communication and collaborative partnerships with parents to ensure each child’s individual needs are met.

We provide:

  • Daily communication and updates

  • Individualized developmental support

  • Safe, clean, and engaging learning environments

  • Guidance rooted in developmental best practices

  • A compassionate team dedicated to supporting both infants and families

Building Strong Roots for Lifelong Success

Our infant program is more than childcare—it is the beginning of a child’s educational journey. By fostering emotional security, early development, and trusting relationships, we help children build the strong roots they need while giving families peace of mind.

At Dartmouth Children’s Center, we are honored to care for your child during these precious early years and to help them grow, explore, and thrive.

Establishing roots, encouraging wings—from the very beginning.
